Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.
Incumbents perform journey level duties and may serve as a lead worker to lower level IT staff as assigned.
This is an open recruitment for an IT Professional II, with the Department of Administration, Enterprise IT services in Carson City. As a member of the Justice Link Administration team, the incumbent will play a pivotal role in supporting the State of Nevada Law Enforcement Message switch. In this capacity, the position will be supporting a codebase and developing in a .NET Object Oriented multi-tier environment to include VB.NET, C#.NET, PLSQL, and T-SQL. In addition, the incumbent will learn to manage a robust Windows server environment that supports this system.
The ideal candidate must have a working knowledge of or experience programming in VB.NET, C#.NET, PL-SQL, T-SQL, or other similar object-oriented language. Knowledge of Windows Server administration is also a plus. Requires a valid driver's license. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and two years of progressively responsible professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, and/or applications analysis and development; OR two years of experience as an IT Professional I in Nevada State service; OR four years of relevant technical experience as an IT Technician IV or above in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |

Applicants must be willing to work standby and carry the standby cellular phone for evening and weekend system troubleshooting.
