The Position
Conservation Aids assist professional staff in a variety of projects involving the conservation and preservation of the State's natural resources.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation. OR Incumbents perform basic tasks or elements of the job not requiring the additional knowledge, skills and abilities to perform at the next level in the series.
This position coordinates the regional Volunteer Program for the Southern Region Department of Wildlife and will assist with the Angler Education Program along with other education activities as needed. Incumbent will help prepare a weekly fishing report. As assigned, assists with special events, writes for publications, helps with videotaping efforts or radio presentations, and prepares visual aids and equipment. At times the incumbent will assist with research or other writing projects. The position is being recruited at both Conservation Aid 2 and Conservation Aid 3.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and six months of experience assisting in resource conservation projects or wildlife management projects; OR completion of 15 college credits in wildlife management, biology, or closely related field; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience; OR six months of experience as a Conservation Aid I in Nevada State service.
Special Notes
    Work may be performed under adverse weather conditions and include extensive walking under difficult conditions, camping in remote, primitive locations.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience.
