Conservation Aids assist professional staff in a variety of projects involving the conservation and preservation
of the State's natural resources.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
The position assists the Regional Outdoor Education Coordinator with the coordination of the Angler Education and Hunter Education programs along with other education activities within the community, as needed; helps prepare a weekly fishing report; as assigned, writes for publications, collects research information, helps with videotaping efforts or radio presentations; and prepares
visual aids and equipment for large events. Position is being recruited at both Conservation Aid 2 and Conservation Aid 3 level.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school and one year of experience in resource
conservation projects or wildlife management projects such as assisting with creel census, surveys, identifying fish and wildlife species, vegetation management or similar work OR an equivalent combination of education and experience; OR six months of experience as a Conservation Aid II in Nevada State service.
Special Notes
Work may be performed under adverse weather conditions and include extensive walking under difficult conditions, camping in remote, primitive locations.
