Education Programs Directors, Supervisors, and Professionals assist and foster the growth of early childhood, pre-K, K-12, postsecondary, adult, and related education programs throughout Nevada by providing technical assistance, training, and oversight.
Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives.
The Nevada Department of Education (NDE) is recruiting for an Education Programs Supervisor, geographically located in Carson City, Nevada. Under the direction of the Administrator, Office of Assessment, Data, and Accountability Management (ADAM), this position will serve as the Education Program Supervisor of Accountability Program Unit. Responsibilities include leadership and general oversight for the following federally and state mandated program areas: Nevada Report Card, including the cohort graduation rate and ethnicity transition; School and District Nevada School Performance Framework (NSPF), and Alternate Performance Framework (APF); NDE Data Collaborative; data management; and internal and external data request and research; Every Student Succeeds ACT (ESSA), and vendor contract Program Manager. In addition, this position is the dedicated EDFacts Coordinator for Nevada (per Federal Register -34 CFR Part 76).
The ADAM Office is responsible for the SAIN (Student Accountability Information Network) which is under the NDE ADAM Office of Information Technology. This position requires a strong working knowledge of state and federal statutes, regulations, and policies related to technical quality, administration, security, reporting, interpretation and communication of new and existing statutes, regulations, and policies. They must participate in any activities related to state-contracted services, grant procurement efforts, or Inter-state collaborations. This individual holds regular meetings with staff, allocates and monitors personnel and fiscal resources for the completion of new and ongoing projects, and offers training, mentoring, guidance and direction as necessary. An earned Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and two years of professional experience in an educational program area; OR Master's degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and three years of professional experience in an educational program area; OR one year of experience as an Education Programs Professional in Nevada State service. |
