JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
Statewide.
Information Technology (IT) Technicians install, configure, monitor, and maintain networks and monitor and maintain help desk user support or mainframe and server operations.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This position is located within the Public and Behavioral Health (PBH) Division's Office of Informatics and Technology (OIT) in Carson City or Las Vegas. This position maintains knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques used in the installation, maintenance and support of the agency desktop environment; provides Help Desk response for support and maintenance of application and system problems to WAN/LAN users; upgrades and installs software and/or hardware on networked desktop systems statewide; and monitors and manages advanced/specialized agency software and inventory. As a PBH Division employee, incumbents are expected to be available for call-back during public health incidents and/or emergencies to perform duties specific to this position or to perform other duties as requested associated with a response role. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of IT work experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of network workstation hardware and software; OR one year of experience as an IT Technician V in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working evenings, weekends and/or holidays is required.
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience.
