Social Workers are licensed professionals who provide case management services to children, families, vulnerable adults with intellectual, developmental, physical disabilities, serious mental illness, and older adults (collectively referred to as "vulnerable adults") and other individuals within local communities and institutions.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) positions are assigned to provide child welfare services to children and families and community contacts to develop and implement a case plan that presents intervention strategies to meet the child's needs. Provides ongoing case management services by developing and implementing plans of care; including home visits; monitoring services; report preparation and record keeping; and providing technical information and educational services. This is a full-time underfill position located in Pahrump. Positions include a variable work agreement that will be scheduled to work hours and days different than 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday such as swing shift and weekends, with overtime after 40 hours per week. Programs include child protective and welfare service delivery in rural Nevada and oversight of urban county-operated child protective and welfare services, children's mental/behavioral health treatment and residential services (outpatient and inpatient acute) in urban Nevada, and statewide juvenile justice services including state-operated youth training centers and youth parole. Licensure or provisional licensure as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker or Associate in Social Work. |

A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |

A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for fingerprinting. |

Licensure or provisional licensure by the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker, or Associate in Social Work is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of employment. |
