Personnel Analysts are responsible for performing comprehensive personnel functions for a state department, division or agency. Work may involve employee relations, recruitment and selection, classification and compensation,
employee development, benefit administration, staffing and payroll.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
The Nevada Department of Veterans Services (NDVS) is recruiting for a Personnel Analyst 2. This position may be geographically located in Las Vegas, NV or Boulder City, NV. Under the direction of the Personnel Officer, the incumbent will provide professional human resources services to NDVS, statewide. The Personnel Analyst is responsible for interpreting and applying federal and state statutes, regulations, policies and procedures; engaging in employee relations to include disciplinary actions and grievances; conducting recruitments and hiring processes; coordinating FMLA, Workers' Compensation, Catastrophic Leave and ADA requests; coordinating employee evaluation processes; tracking training requirements; creating and distributing reports; supervising a Personnel Technician 2; and other duties as assigned. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in public administration or a related field and two years of progressively responsible professional personnel experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
