Employee Development Managers and Training Officers analyze, design, develop, implement, evaluate, manage and coordinate training and development for a department, division or a geographic region of a department's statewide training function and supervise and/or conduct sessions for vocation and/or skills training in specific occupational areas and general management development.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This Training Officer 2 position manages and coordinates specific statewide training for the Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation, Bureau of Services to Persons Who Are Blind and Visually Impaired and for approved vendors.
The incumbent will prepare course descriptions, develop unique curriculum and deliver training to approximately 125 new and existing employees on Rehab-specific topics for on-boarding as well as ongoing staff development; develop and implement training unique to the audience that is based on specific training needs as defined by Rehab Administration, Director's Office, or the Rehabilitation Services Administration. By definition, the practice of Vocational Rehabilitation is complex and includes knowledge of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014, medical and psychological aspects of disability, knowledge of assessment tools and best practices, knowledge of higher education and training implications for people with disabilities. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education or a related field and four years of experience in the adult training process which included experience in planning, programming, coordinating and conducting adult training; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
