Licensed Psychologists provide psychological testing, evaluation, psychotherapy, counseling, and consultation to clients or inmates in residential, inpatient and outpatient settings, at a mental health, intellectual disabilities, or correctional facility, or in other settings where psychological services are provided.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
Desert Willow Treatment Center is a 20-bed child and adolescent psychiatric hospital serving severely emotionally disturbed youth ages 12 to 18. Incumbent will provide direct care services to patients, assist in all admissions, provide input in the development of treatment plans, facilitate multidisciplinary treatment team meetings, coordinate placement and educational/vocational needs, develop comprehensive aftercare plans that include clinical follow-up services (i.e., outpatient therapy, medication monitoring, and other formal/informal resources), arrange for patient transfers, and conduct discharge planning. Incumbent will administer, score and interpret a wide variety of diagnostic and projective tests in order to evaluate and diagnose patients, or inmates; write comprehensive psychological reports to include test results, clinical observations, findings and recommendations; document services provided in patient charts. This position provides comprehensive case management and discharge procedures compliant with the Joint Commission, Division of Public and Behavioral Health, Legislative Counsel Bureau, and Medicaid standards. The incumbent will follow medical and health care practices that adhere to the values and principles of Systems of Care.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

One year of post-doctoral experience in providing psychological services in an inpatient, outpatient or residential setting. |

Licensed Psychologist I's and Licensed Psychologist II's must possess current licensure as a Psychologist issued by the State of Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners at the time of appointment and maintain licensure as a condition of continuing employment. |

A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. |
|
