The Position
Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.
This is a temporary position which will be assigned to the Office of the Governor, reporting to the Chief of Staff. The Management Analyst position in the Governor's Office is responsible for supporting the Governor's priorities through policy analysis, agency communication, and subject matter research related to their designated agencies. Some of the duties include, but are not limited to providing analysis of major State and federal health and human services issues, policies and regulations to the Governor, Chief Counsel, senior staff and/or agency management; obtain working knowledge of Health and Human Services organizational structure, its various division and agency responsibilities, services and funding streams; cultivate relationships with key department and agency staff; monitor Department of Health and Human Services agency meetings; identify and develop relationships with health and human services stakeholders in the community; serve as intergovernmental liaison and primary point-of-contact agent between assigned agencies and the Office of the Governor; serve, as needed or requested by Senior Staff or Department or Agency Management on grant planning initiatives; educate agencies about the Governor's priorities and initiatives; research, analyze and track state and federal legislation or regulations affecting health and human services in the state; assist constituents in resolving issues with state agencies; advise Policy Director and senior staff of important, high-profile agency issues; assist Legislative Policy Analyst in reviewing and evaluating pending state legislation; convey technical or complex information in a clear manner; draft correspondence for the Governor and Chief of Counsel and Senior Staff; attend cabinet meetings, agency meetings, board meetings or public meetings as requested; and perform other duties as assigned.
The selected incumbent will have the ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information, act with integrity, and promote ethical conduct; convey accurate information in a prompt manner, both verbally and in writing; accept responsibility for quality and timeliness of work, and function independently and as a valued team member; and understand political realities and implications, offer additional effort during crisis situations, and accept changing work conditions. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and one year of professional or paraprofessional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures, or administration of policies and procedures for a program or functional area; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis.
Special Notes
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
    The ability to travel at least 25% of the time is required.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
The Examination

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience.
