JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Professional Engineer Managers plan, coordinate and oversee projects, programs and consultant contracts/agreements and perform licensed professional engineering functions.
Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives.
This position is located in Roadway Design in Carson City. Incumbents manage NDOT Road Design programs and projects; provide design direction; supervise and develop staff; allocate resources; represent the Department at meetings and public hearings; coordinate with external agencies and developers; ensure project deadlines are met; verify compliance with policies and procedures; provide expertise on Department legal issues; and manage the programming, scheduling, and agreements associated with NDOT in-house design and consultant design projects. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Current licensure as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) and two years of experience performing professional engineering work in a supervisory or responsible project charge capacity; OR one year of experience as a Supervisor, Professional Engineer in Nevada State service; OR licensure and two years of experience as a Staff II or Supervisor II, Associate Engineer in Nevada State service; OR licensure and an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Notes
A person that is a licensed Professional Engineer in another state must become licensed as a Professional Engineer in Nevada within six months of appointment as a condition of continuing employment.
Special Requirements
Registration as a Professional Engineer is required at the time of employment and as a condition of continuing employment.
