Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
The Division of Welfare and Supportive Services is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant 1 (AA1) position located in Fallon, NV. The AA1 plays a key role in the delivery of outstanding professional customer service to the entire staff of DWSS, customers and community partners. This position is responsible for a wide range of general administrative support functions including but not limited to word processing, general filing and records maintenance, scheduling appointments, and answering/screening/directing telephone calls. The successful candidate will be a team player with a positive attitude who enjoys a variety of different tasks with changing priorities. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of clerical experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records, answering telephones, and reviewing forms, documents and other written materials; OR six months of experience as an Administrative Aid in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required.
Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
