The Position
Positions in this series provide care, training, and treatment to children and adolescents with behavioral and emotional disturbances in a 24-hour/7-day a week treatment home setting.
The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS) is recruiting for Treatment Home Provider that will be located at the OASIS in Las Vegas, NV. Treatment Home Providers in this position at the Oasis On Campus Treatment Homes, provide care, training, and treatment to children and adolescents, ages 6-18, with behavioral and emotional disturbances in a 24-hour/7-day a week treatment home setting. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency in the area of children's emotional and behavioral mental health sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. Incumbents implement treatment plans by delivering psychosocial rehabilitation, implementing therapeutic interventions with clients, facilitating and co-facilitating psychosocial rehabilitation groups, provide parent education, role modeling implementation of the program models for transference into the home environment, and act as liaisons with schools and other providers.
Treatment Home Providers take the role of shift lead to be responsible for the home and youth care when a supervisor is not on duty; teach, train and supervise clients in self-care skills, social skills, empowerment, and academic skills in order to accomplish goals in client individualized treatment plans by specifically using the Psycho Educational Model (PEM), Aggression Replacement Training (ART), pre-teaching interactions, role play, and therapeutic relationship building on a consistent and ongoing basis; and implement weekly home notes, daily point cards, and school notes to initiate change in client behavior through immediate feedback and tutoring clients to improve academic performance. *** THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education, child development, psychology, counseling, social work, or closely related field and one year of experience in the care, training, and/or treatment of children or adolescents with behavioral and emotional disturbances; OR three years of experience in the care, training, and/or treatment of children or adolescents with behavioral and emotional disturbances in a residential treatment home or psychiatric hospital; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
    Work on evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required.
    A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
