Public Service Interns receive training and complete a variety of assignments in staff activities directly relating to their major course of study while enrolled in an educational institution.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
Incumbents work in a student internship capacity as temporary employees in a three-month position, with the Nevada Department of Transportation. Vacancies are located in Las Vegas and Tonopah. This recruitment is for students at the undergraduate level. Program duration is from May 20, 2019, through August 16, 2019. The emphasis of the summer internship program is civil engineering. However, there may be openings for students from other disciplines, such as traffic engineering, mechanical engineering, or a closely related field. Work assignments will vary as an intern progresses in class standing.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Graduation from high school or the equivalent and enrollment and continued successful performance in an academic program related to the field of employment at an accredited college or university. |

Employment is not to exceed six months from the date of graduation.
|

Employment in this class will not lead to permanent status in State service.
|
|
A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |
