JOB INFORMATION

in this geographical location.
Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.
The Division of Parole and Probation (P&P) is recruiting to fill two vacancies in the Reno office. The incumbents' primary responsibility is the set up and/or modification of probation and parole cases post-sentencing and prior to release from prison. The position must enter and update relevant information in various databases as well as create documents appropriate for use by Officers, Courts, and other law enforcement entities. Additional duties include, but are not limited to: preparation of offender supervision and discharge documents, general clerical tasks, and offender compliance assistance. The position will interact one-on-one with offenders, in a secure environment, primarily at an offsite law enforcement location with the possibility of onsite contact as well. A successful incumbent will have experience with several software databases and the capability to become proficient in, if not master, new ones. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
