The Position
Grants & Projects Analysts develop and implement and/or assess, monitor, control and review grant-in-aid projects/programs administered by State agencies and provide assistance to recipients in evaluating program effectiveness.
The Division of Emergency Management (DEM) is recruiting to fill a Grants and Projects Analyst 1 position with the Grants, Recovery and Mitigation Unit located in Carson City. The incumbent shall prepare reports on actions and activities as established by the agency and assist in the monitoring of programs. Candidates shall have an ability to work with others, be self-motivated, possess strong organizational skills, and be willing to travel on a limited basis. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform trainee-level work independently with training and may provide work direction and training to others after one year of working under a Grants & Projects Analyst 2. This is a challenging position requiring the ability to provide the utmost customer service to both internal State employees and external stakeholders. Effective, professional communication is required to collaborate with multiple parties. The incumbent will be able to auto-progress upon meeting the minimum qualifications of the class, satisfactory work performance, and with the recommendation of the appointing authority. As a member of this agency, activation of the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) may occur in the event of a major emergency. All positions in the agency perform a role to support the SEOC operations. This may serve to disrupt/alter/ revise or totally change all previously established work performance standards, requiring 100% of time until the emergency is over. During activation, the SEOC may be in operation 24/7 for an extended period of time to include holidays and weekends. *** THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, accounting, finance or related field; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of journey level technical or paraprofessional grants experience which includes duties such as assisting with writing grant applications; determining grant/subgrant program eligibility; providing technical assistance to grant/subgrant clients; and/or assisting with fiscal aspects of grants/subgrants; OR two years of paraprofessional experience equivalent to an Administrative Assistant III or Accounting Assistant III in Nevada State service which included assisting in performing grant duties as described above; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
