Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.
Incumbents perform journey level duties and may serve as a lead worker to lower level IT staff as assigned. This position is located within the Department of Employment Training and Rehabilitation in Las Vegas, Nevada. This position will be responsible for the Microsoft Office 365 Product Management (O365) which includes the following:
* Understanding of O365 capabilities, features and how to securely implement them.
* Being the Agency's go to person with O365 by the Supporting users and other support staff with Office 365 services.
* Making sure that the O365 program implemented to meet the desired goals and outcomes of the Agency.
* Maintain a Secure system through proper system configuration.
* Troubleshoot issues with O365.
* Setting up SharePoint document libraries and permissions.
* Assist with the migration of SharePoint data from legacy systems into the cloud.
* Champion the adoption of Office 365 services as appropriate for our agency.
* Product owner for DETR federated tenant.
* Maintain a Microsoft roadmap & release schedule of what features are being released when and what is being deprecated when; realize what business change process/management that needs to occur with each service offering; and establish and collect analytics for O365 continual process improvement.
* May be appointed by the Division Administrator to various O365 State working or steering committee.
* Occasional travel to other DETR Office locations required.
Incumbents perform professional work in the analysis, enhancement, configuration, maintenance, and installation of the application components. Incumbent typically work with systems that involve multi-user and multi-tasking capabilities. Problems encountered tend to be of a recurring nature and solutions are derived through collaboration and application of standard professional practices and procedures. select, analyze, maintain, and modify computer, operating systems, and auxiliary software packages required to support various information systems and back-up and recover the agency's software and data. Typical tasks include making technical recommendations and implementation of product configurations. Communication with technical support staff; performing product upkeep such as completing change tasks, reviewing of monitored reports and change logs in relation to product documentation, implementing updates to product configurations to optimize performance. Incumbents install and test new system configurations and components, troubleshoot software/tool problems, and modify/enhance system configurations to improve performance. Incumbents provide technical assistance and training to system users that require them to analyze configuration and use reports research product configuration documentation, collaborate with other product SME's, vendors and other professional staff for technical information.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and two years of progressively responsible professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, and/or applications analysis and development; OR two years of experience as an IT Professional I in Nevada State service; OR four years of relevant technical experience as an IT Technician IV or above in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |
