Licensed Psychologists provide psychological testing, evaluation, psychotherapy, counseling, and consultation to clients or inmates in residential, inpatient and outpatient settings, at a mental health, intellectual disabilities, or correctional facility, or in other settings where psychological services are provided.

The Division of Public and Behavioral Health, Rural Clinics, is recruiting for a Licensed Psychologist 1 position. Rural Clinics provides an array of outpatient behavioral health services for both children and adults in 16 clinics across Rural Nevada. Services are generally provided Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Services assist individuals to achieve self-sufficiency and recovery. Services include screening and assessments using standardized techniques to determine client eligibility for services and appropriate course of treatment at the least restrictive level possible. This position is based in Carson City. This position may provide coverage to other clinics throughout the agency, either in person or through telehealth. This position serves as a direct care provider of psychotherapy services to adults and/or children and adolescents and their families; psychological testing/assessments; and consultation to other providers within the agency. Licensed Psychologists are expected to assume a leadership role within the agency and may be asked to perform other services, including program development, research, and evaluation. A successful candidate will have demonstrated experience and/or competency in multiculturalism and human diversity standards of practice. In addition, this position may be asked to provide training to behavioral health trainees within the agency. The Division of Public and Behavioral Health provides unique opportunities to provide psychological services to smaller communities. Position requires that registration to provide clinical services be maintained, without lapses. Duties are performed in accordance with requirements of the State of Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners. This clinic has been designated as a loan repayment site through the National Health Services Corps (NHSC), a program of Health Research and Services Administration (HRSA).
