The Position
Licensed Psychologists provide psychological testing, evaluation, psychotherapy, counseling, and consultation to clients or inmates in residential, inpatient and outpatient settings, at a mental health, intellectual disabilities, or correctional facility, or in other settings where psychological services are provided.

The Division of Public and Behavioral Health, Rural Clinics, is recruiting for a Licensed Psychologist 1 position in Carson City, Nevada. Rural Clinics provides an array of outpatient behavioral health services for both children and adults in 16 clinics across Rural Nevada. Services are generally provided Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Services assist individuals to achieve self-sufficiency and recovery. Services include screening and assessments using standardized techniques to determine client eligibility for services and appropriate course of treatment at the least restrictive level possible. This position may provide coverage to other clinics throughout the agency, either in person or through telehealth. This position serves as a direct care provider of psychotherapy services to adults and/or children and adolescents and their families; psychological testing/assessments; and consultation to other providers within the agency. Licensed Psychologists are expected to assume a leadership role within the agency and may be asked to perform other services, including program development, research, and evaluation. A successful candidate will have demonstrated experience and/or competency in multiculturalism and human diversity standards of practice. In addition, this position may be asked to provide clinical supervision and training to behavioral health trainees within the agency, including one or more doctoral psychology interns enrolled in the APA Accredited Nevada Psychology Internship Consortium (NV-PIC). The Division of Public and Behavioral Health provides unique opportunities to provide psychological services to smaller communities. Position requires that licensure to provide clinical services be maintained without lapses. Duties are performed in accordance with license requirements of the State of Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    One year of post-doctoral experience in providing psychological services in an inpatient, outpatient or residential setting.
Special Requirements
    Licensed Psychologist I's and Licensed Psychologist II's must possess current licensure as a Psychologist issued by the State of Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners at the time of appointment and maintain licensure as a condition of continuing employment.
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
