The Position
Heating/Ventilation/Air Conditioning/Refrigeration (HVACR) Specialist's perform skilled work in the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position is located within District 1, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Incumbent is responsible for maintaining all HVAC systems, gas heaters, ice machines and evaporative coolers. Duties include establishing and maintaining refrigerant control and conservation reports; establishing and maintaining a preventive maintenance schedule for refrigeration equipment; maintaining scheduled water, air filter and duct cleaning procedures; and assisting facility crew members with other related maintenance duties and assignments. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Completion of a recognized HVACR apprenticeship program; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Notes
    Incumbents may be required to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays in addition to their normal work schedules.
Special Requirements
    Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
    Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
