The Position
Licensed Professional Engineers provide professional services involving the application of engineering principles and data, or activities in connection with public or private utilities, structures, buildings, machines, equipment or projects impacting the public welfare or the safeguarding of life, health or property.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position is located within the Adjudications Section of the Division of Water Resource in Carson City. Incumbent is primarily responsible for assisting the manager in planning, organizing and coordinating the completion of adjudications; preparing Abstracts of Claims and Preliminary Orders of Determination; performing the necessary field investigations to determine proceeding with an adjudication and to determine the validity of proofs of appropriation; assisting the Hearings Officer in conducting hearings on objections to Preliminary Orders of Determination; assisting the manager and Attorney General in presenting evidence in District Court at Hearings on Orders of Determination; drafting Final Orders of Determination; assisting staff with resolving problems relating to all aspects of the adjudication process; and conducting field investigations and mediating conflicts over water rights and administering and regulating decrees. *** THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Current Licensure as a Professional Engineer (P.E.)
Special Requirements
    Registration as a Professional Engineer is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
The Examination

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
