The Position
Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
Lake's Crossing Center (LCC), a maximum security forensic facility/psychiatric hospital for Mentally Disordered Offenders, located in Sparks, Nevada is recruiting for a Clinical Social Worker II. The agency's primary focus of treatment is to provide competency evaluation and restoration for court ordered clients. The agency also provides treatment and monitors clients who are adjudicated Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity and non-restorable clients; who are committed to the Division by the courts. Duties include participating on a multidisciplinary treatment team, conducting psychoeducational groups, completing social history assessments, treatment planning, discharge planning, coordinating and communicating with the courts and officers of the courts, and completing competency evaluations regarding misdemeanor level charges, for both inpatient and outpatient clients. The environment requires a high level of security awareness as well as the physical stamina or ability to deal with maladaptive and aggressive clients. Hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday. However, hours may vary and include but not limited to on-call evenings and weekends duties, depending on the needs of the agency.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.
Special Notes
    Incumbents must obtain and maintain licensure or provisional licensure to engage in social work as a Clinical Social Worker or associate in social work in accordance with NRS Chapter 641B and the regulations adopted by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.
Special Requirements
    Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required.
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required.
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
Additional Position Criteria
    This position requires experience providing direct client care and implementing treatment plans for individual with mental illness or developmental disabilities.
