The Position
Health Resource Analysts assist in the development, maintenance, implementation, and revision of State health care policies and programs.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
This is an underfill for a Health Resource Analyst 2 position working with system management and data quality assurance and coordination in the Health Information and Technology Unit at the Division of Public and Behavioral Health located in Carson City, Nevada. This position will participate in the collecting, reporting, and maintainenance of colorectal, cervical, and breast cancer health statistics; manage the Low-Income Health Tracking System (LIHTS); provide data source investigation, and collaborate on reports defining the burden of chronic diseases, colorectal, cervical, and breast cancers in Nevada. The position will also work as a member of the state Cancer Leadership Team. The candidate should possess skills in querying data, organizing and reporting data in a meaningful way, and utilizing data for evaluations purposes. The position will require knowledge and experience of Microsoft Access to review claims data and make recommendations to drive interventions to increase cancer screenings among the targeted populations. *** THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree in the health sciences, public administration, social sciences or closely related field; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
