The Position
Personnel Analysts are responsible for performing comprehensive personnel functions for a state department, division or agency. Work may involve employee relations, recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, employee development, benefit administration, staffing and payroll.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
The Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) within the Department of Health and Human Services is current seeking a Human Resource Analyst for the Northern Region. ADSD provides an atmosphere of innovative thinking, teamwork, friendly co-workers, and promotes a positive work environment. The mission of ADSD is to provide leadership and advocacy in the planning, development and delivery of a high quality, comprehensive support service system across the lifespan to allow all of Nevada's elders, children and adults with disabilities or special health care needs, to live independent, meaningful and dignified lives to the greatest extent possible. This position has responsibility in all aspects of employee relations for the Northern geographical region. The incumbent will advise management and employees on disciplinary action, grievances, performance evaluations, attendance/leave issues, and alcohol and drug testing. Responsibilities include: interpreting and applying Federal and State laws, Nevada Administrative Code, and policies and procedures; disciplinary action including processing Specificity of Charges (NPD-41) and Written Reprimands (NPD-52) as well as counseling on verbal warnings, letters of instruction and grievances. The incumbent will be responsible for developing a full knowledge of State government laws, principles, practices, and methods of personnel administration. This position reports directly to the Human Resource Officer located in the Southern Administrative Office. *** THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in public administration or a related field and two years of progressively responsible professional personnel experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
