Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.
Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
The Division of Welfare and Supportive Services (DWSS) is currently recruiting for a Management Analyst 3 position to join the Fiscal Unit in the Carson City Central Office. This is a tremendous opportunity to work as part of a cohesive team, where all members deal with time sensitive materials, deadline driven projects, and provide support for unit functions.
This position reports directly to the Budget Analyst 3 in Fiscal and has the responsibility for fiscal management, monitoring, reporting, and budgeting of Division budget accounts. This position develops biennial budget requests, completes work programs, prepares/presents monthly fiscal status reports, as well as other required assignments. The incumbent will serve as a member of the Fiscal planning team, provide section information and make recommendations for planning, evaluating and safeguarding the Division's accounts. *** THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and three years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR one year experience as a Management Analyst II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis.
Special Notes
Without the required Bachelor's degree this position would require 7 years of experience of which 2 years were at the paraprofessional level and 5 years that were at the professional level performing research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures.
Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required.
This position requires up to 25% travel.
Additional Position Criteria
Budget management experience is required.
