The Position
Health Resource Analysts assist in the development, maintenance, implementation, and revision of State health care policies and programs.
Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
This Health Resources Analyst III position serves as the Project Director for the federal Health Resources Services Administration/Primary Care Office (PCO) Cooperative Agreement. The incumbent will administer grants, including application, budgeting, monitoring and reporting for core programs to increase access to health care; conduct needs assessments; compile health statistics and health care resource information to determine areas of unmet health needs; identify and develop data sources at local, state and national levels; support data development process to ensure current and accurate data consistent with the federal Shortage Designation Management System requirements; develop draft regulations, policies and procedures to support functions of the PCO; provide technical assistance and monitoring for programs administered by the PCO; and ensure compliance and conduct investigations as required. Additional duties will include providing support to the Primary Care Advisory Council for the J-1 Physician Visa Waiver program; collaborate and communicate with health care safety net partners within the Department of Health and Human Services and throughout the state, as well as PCO counterparts in other states and supervise professional staff to support the designation process, the J-1 Physician Visa Waiver program and the loan repayment and scholar programs.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree in the health sciences, public administration, social sciences or closely related field and three years experience in the health/social sciences or related field which involved analysis of health data, identification of health care needs, and the development of health care reports, policies and programs; OR one year as a Health Resource Analyst II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
The Examination

Health Resource Analyst III
The exam will consist of a rating of training and experience weighted 100%. It is essential that applications include extensively detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience.
