Heat Plant Specialists operate, adjust, monitor, maintain, clean and repair high and/or low pressure boilers and hot water heat generating equipment, auxiliary equipment such as fuel and combustion systems, compressors, pumps, steam lines, steam traps, heat exchangers, water lines, controls, gauges, and emergency power generators.
Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
This position is located in Lovelock, NV. We are located approximately 100 miles east of Reno, NV. The Heat Plant Specialist 4 is responsible for the heating and air conditioning of the following facilities: Lovelock Correctional Center, Humboldt Conservation Camp, and Carlin Conservation Camp. Incumbent will also have under their supervision the following: four Heat Plant Specialist III's, HVAC Technician, and inmates as needed to complete tasks.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Completion of a recognized heat plant apprenticeship program followed by two years of journey level experience as a heat plant specialist; OR two years as a Heat Plant Specialist III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |
