Health Program Managers provide administrative direction for programs related to maternal, child and family health, nutrition, disease control, or other health programs.
Health Program Manager II's supervise both supervisory and professional staff engaged in provision of health-related services and are responsible for long range, broad-based planning and policy development for a statewide program.
This recruitment is for a Health Program Manger 2 position within the Office of Analytics, located in Carson City in the Department of Health and Human Services. This supervisory position is responsible for the overall management of the Office of Analytics. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, extensive personnel oversight such as recruiting, hiring, coaching and disciplinary action. Responsibilities further include writing and reporting; fiscal management, oversight and reporting; serving as the first point of contact with federal, department, and division partners; adherence of programmatic reporting and presentations; coordination of technical assistance with key stakeholders, including quarterly advisory boards; and implementation of evidenced-based data reporting practices. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public health, human services, social science, behavioral science or related field and four years of increasingly responsible professional experience in a health-related field, two years of which included providing or coordinating the delivery of health care services, budget preparation and control, and the interpretation and implementation of complex regulations. Of the two years of experience, one year must have included supervision of professional staff; OR one year of experience as a Health Program Manager I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
