The Position
Clinical Program Planners perform and supervise a variety of planning and analytical functions in support of clinical programs and activities within divisions of the Department of Health and Human Services, including quality improvement, program design, policy and procedure development, program evaluation, research, contract and grant development and administration, strategic planning, and training initiatives.
The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS) is recruiting for a Clinical Program Planner I. This position may be located in Carson City, Reno, or Las Vegas depending on the best qualified applicant and needs of the agency. This position will be the Project Manager providing overarching and daily management of the Divisions newly awarded federal U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) grant. The position will be responsible for leading, developing and evaluating sustainability strategies for a behavioral health integration program in pediatric primary care statewide by supporting the creation of a new statewide pediatric mental health care telehealth and telephone access program. Additionally, this project will train and educate pediatric primary care physicians to early identify, diagnose, treat, and refer children with behavioral health issues. The telephone access program will also allow for both client-centered and consultee-centered consultation. Finally, this project will create a depository of behavioral health service providers easily accessible to primary physicians, providers and the public for quick and effective referrals. This position will be responsible for ensuring the Division success and compliance with all grant reporting requirements, fiscal obligations, program development and service delivery functions.
This position is full-time Monday thru Friday 8 am to 5 pm with a regular work schedule that includes a variable work agreement with overtime after 40 hours per week. DCFS programs include child protective and welfare service delivery in rural Nevada and oversight of urban county-operated child protective and welfare services, children's mental/behavioral health treatment and residential services (outpatient and inpatient acute) in urban Nevada, and statewide juvenile justice services including state-operated youth training centers and youth parole. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a social science or health related field, which included clinical intervention coursework, and two years of professional experience as a clinician in a mental health or intellectual disability service delivery setting.
Special Requirements
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
