The Position
Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation. OR Incumbents perform basic tasks or elements of the job not requiring the additional knowledge, skills and abilities to perform at the next level in the series.
This position is underfilling a Clinical Social Worker 2. This position provides individual and group counseling, case management, and other direct clinical interventions/services for people who are mentally ill and emotionally disturbed. Services include screening and assessments using standardized techniques to determine client eligibility for services and appropriate course of treatment at the least restrictive level possible. This position also works with the consumer and others to develop and monitor the treatment plan, including participation in team meetings and coordinating services among members of treatment team consumer support systems and community entities and evaluating treatment effectiveness. This clinic has been designated as a loan repayment site through the National Health Services Corps (NHSC), a program of the Health Research and Services Administration (HRSA).

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Master's degree from an accredited college or university in social work and an internship approved by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.
Special Notes
    Must be in or eligible for an internship for licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers, or must hold a license in the State of Nevada as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for fingerprinting.
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
