The Position
Social Workers are licensed professionals who provide case management services to children, families, vulnerable adults with intellectual, developmental, physical disabilities, serious mental illness, and older adults (collectively referred to as "vulnerable adults") and other individuals within local communities and institutions.
Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
Social Work Supervisor II duties include but are not limited to: responsibility for initial and on-the-job training of assigned staff; ensure new employees attend CORE training; assist staff in acquiring their ongoing training needs to comply with required CEU licensure requirements. Ensures staff maintains compliance with, and properly implements DCFS policies and procedures, statutes, regulations and directives necessary for the safety of children and families served by DCFS. Ensures consistent case consultation with workers for the purpose of reviewing policy, best practice standards, and provide consultation and coaching based on SAFE criteria to guide how practice occurs using structured weekly consultation approach that targets SAFE intervention practice and decision making. Emphasis should be placed on, but not limited to; quality of CPS Assessments, Diligent Search efforts, implementation of the PCFA, the construction of Case Plans, facilitation of changed focused contact, conducting and documenting the PCPA event, identifying and addressing barriers to achieving timely permanency for all children. Establishes clear expectations for performance and completion of SAFE Model interventions and encourages practice as intended. Review ALL case documentation for quality and completion of required UNITY screens and assessments prior to approval. Ensure Child and Family Team meetings and collaborative case plan meetings are held on a regular basis. Ensure court reports are submitted timely and that court orders contain required IV-E eligibility language. Review court reports and legal documents to ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and agency policies; i.e. IV-E eligibility. Complete mandatory supervisory trainings required by state personnel and other leadership training as directed by Management.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Licensure or provisional licensure as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker or Associate in Social Work and one year of advanced journey level professional experience providing case management in a social work setting equivalent to a Social Worker III in Nevada State service.
Special Requirements
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
    Some positions require work on evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
    Licensure or provisional licensure by the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker, or Associate in Social Work is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of employment.
