Psychiatric Caseworkers monitor the treatment and progress of mentally ill or developmentally disabled clients, perform day treatment and psychosocial rehabilitation activities, and coordinate discharge and aftercare services, in an outpatient, inpatient, clinic, residential, treatment center, client's home and other community settings.
This position supports SOUTHERN NEVADA ADULT MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES (SNAMHS). The anticipated work location is at the West Charleston Clinic but positions may be assigned to any SNAMHS work location.
The position is responsible for crises intervention; documenting client progress; assessing client needs and resources available; case management practices and procedures; laws governing abuse and neglect of clients; treatment planning and implementation; and educating clients and their families
on issues of daily living, coping skills and employment.
This is a full-time position with a work schedule of Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Incumbents will be working an innovative variable schedule with overtime after 40 hours per week.
Our Agency's mission is to help adults with mental illness improve their quality of life. Through a team approach, we provide innovative inpatient and outpatient mental health services for the Southern Nevada community. Some of the services we provide include Inpatient Services, Mobile Crises, Outpatient Counseling, Service Coordination, Intensive Service Coordination, Medication Clinic, Residential Support Programs, Mental Health Court, Consumer Advocacy, Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) and Programs for Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) teams. Inpatient services are provided through the Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital. Outpatient services are provided through mental health clinics located throughout the community. We are accredited by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, or closely related human services field and two years of experience in a mental health or intellectual disabilities setting, one year of which must have included professional casework experience providing psychosocial rehabilitation services for a caseload consisting predominantly of individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities; OR one year as a Psychiatric Caseworker I in Nevada State Service; OR an equivalent combination of experience and education above the bachelor's degree level. |
