Grounds Maintenance Workers perform landscape, garden and greenhouse duties such as planting, pruning, mowing, trimming, watering, fertilizing, weeding and snow and ice prevention and removal; and operate hand and power tools, power mowers, tractor mowers, trenching devices, forklifts and hoists.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
The Department of Veterans Services, Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery (SNVMC) is recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance Worker 4. Under the direction of the Grounds Supervisor 1, the Grounds Maintenance Worker 4 position will be responsible for the maintenance of the irrigation system at the SNVMC by replacing and repairing irrigation lines, valves, rotors, pop-ups, diaphragms, drip systems and bubblers, adjusting heads and maintaining valve and heads clear of debris. Additional duties include mowing burial sections, edging around grave markers and along roadway curbing and mow curbing, trimming trees and shrubs, spraying fertilizers and weed control, and other grounds maintenance duties as assigned. This position is geographically located in Boulder City, Nevada. Two years of experience performing grounds maintenance work using a variety of tools and techniques; OR one year of experience as a Grounds Maintenance Worker III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. |

Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment. |
