Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.
The Division of Records, Communication, and Compliance is recruiting for a swing shift supervisor in the Criminal Records Unit at the Carson City office. The standard shift for this position is Monday through Friday 3 pm-11:30 pm. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the proper maintenance of criminal arrest records, including updates and corrections to State and FBI criminal justice information systems and ensuring the prompt processing of court-ordered criminal record seals. Supervision duties include overseeing permanent and temporary employees' training, conducting performance evaluations, directing daily operations and maintaining current workload volumes for fingerprint-based criminal record functions, ensuring program compliance with applicable State and Federal laws, recommending and implementing program policies and procedures to meet established goals and objectives, and compiling and submitting unit-specific comprehensive statistical reports on a weekly/quarterly basis and upon request by management. This position may require occasional shift modification to meet the needs of the unit and requires certification in NCJIS/NCIC within six months of employment and recertification every two years for continued employment. Certification will be conducted by the Division.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
This position has a 25% Travel Requirement.
The incumbent is required to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
