The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

Licensed Psychologists provide psychological testing, evaluation, psychotherapy, counseling, and consultation to clients or inmates in residential, inpatient and outpatient settings, at a mental health, intellectual disabilities, or correctional facility, or in other settings where psychological services are provided.
Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services (SNAMHS) is currently recruiting for Licensed Psychologist 1 positions. Licensed Psychologists at SNAMHS provide psychological testing, evaluation, counseling, developing behavioral intervention strategies, consultation, and group and individual psychotherapy in inpatient and outpatient settings. Incumbents will provide crisis intervention, help develop safety plan recommendations for patients, and conduct patient interviews. Positions are anticipated to be assigned to Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital. Work responsibilities are under the direction of the Licensed Psychologist 2 for SNAMHS. Psychologists are members of interdisciplinary treatment teams along with psychiatry, social services, nursing, and caseworkers. Incumbents will formulate individualized treatment plans and ensure compliance with CMS standards, as well as established laws, regulations, and SNAMHS policies. A successful candidate will have demonstrated experience and/or competency in multiculturalism and human diversity standards of practice. Licensed Psychologists provide clinical supervision for trainees at all levels and serve on committees for SNAMHS. Licensed Psychologists will be involved in training doctoral interns placed at SNAMHS through the Nevada Psychology Internship Consortium (NV-PIC). Licensed Psychologists must possess current licensure as a Psychologist issued by the State of Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners at the time of appointment and maintain licensure as a condition of employment. Incumbents will work an innovative variable schedule and are exempt from overtime.
Employment with the State meets eligibility requirements to apply for the federal student loan forgiveness program after 10 years of employment and payments on loans. SNAMHS' mission is to protect, promote and improve the physical and behavioral health of the people of Nevada. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
One year of post-doctoral experience in providing psychological services in an inpatient, outpatient or residential setting.
Special Requirements
Licensed Psychologist I's and Licensed Psychologist II's must possess current licensure as a Psychologist issued by the State of Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners at the time of appointment and maintain licensure as a condition of continuing employment.
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
