Insurance Examiners perform professional work in verification and analysis of the financial condition/solvency
and market conduct examination of providers of insurance and related products in the State.
Under administrative direction, the incumbent coordinates the execution of the Division's financial examinations; provides direction and coordinates the efforts of contract examiners and division analysts to ensure timely and cost effective examinations in accordance with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) guidelines and accreditation standards; and provides recommendations regarding deficiencies and improvements to the examination process. This position is with the Nevada Division of Insurance, Carson City office, within the Corporate and Financial Affairs section. The position is supervisory in nature, overseeing the financial analysis of domestic insurers in accordance with standards promulgated by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. This position is responsible for making decisions, choices, determinations and judgments throughout the financial surveillance process, which includes examinations and analysis and reviewing analysts and financial examiners work to ensure all risks have been appropriately addressed. Once risks have been identified, the incumbent will be making judgments and recommendations as to corrective and legal actions to be taken by the Division.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Certification as a Certified Financial Examiner (CFE) issued by the Society of Financial Examiners and one year of experience supervising financial and market conduct examinations.
Special Requirements
The Assistant Chief Insurance Examiner requires certification as a Certified Financial Examiner (CFE) by the Society of Financial Examiners at the time of application and as a condition of continuing employment.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
