Grounds Maintenance Workers perform landscape, garden and greenhouse duties such as planting, pruning, mowing, trimming, watering, fertilizing, weeding and snow and ice prevention and removal; and operate hand and power tools, power mowers, tractor mowers, trenching devices, forklifts and hoists.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.
This position performs a wide variety of landscape, garden and greenhouse duties, scheduling of routine activities and oversees subordinate staff. Duties to include performance evaluations; work performance standards; scheduling; work assignment and review; and training and discipline in duties such as planting, pruning, mowing, trimming, watering, fertilizing and weeding. *** THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. Two years of experience performing grounds maintenance work using a variety of tools and techniques; OR one year of experience as a Grounds Maintenance Worker III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Incumbents may be required to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays in addition to their normal work schedules. |
|
| |
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. |
| |
Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment. |
