Radiological Technologists operate x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of various anatomical parts as prescribed by a physician; take and develop radiographs; process exposed film; instruct and assist patients during procedure.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This part-time position is located in Lovelock, NV at the Lovelock Correctional Institution. This position requires working closely with inmates in our medial facility. Radiological Technologist's main assignments will be taking x-rays of patients; positioning the patients properly; developing the film and checking it for quality; properly identifying each film; and preparing files and routing them to the physician. Incumbents are responsible for ordering chemicals and supplies; maintaining sufficient inventory; storing chemicals per OSHA requirements; and performing preventative maintenance of equipment and making any adjustments or repairs to the x-ray unit. Additional duties will include logging patients and testing information; recording number of patients, types of tests and results; and preparing monthly summaries and reports. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from a two-year program in x-ray technology and two years of experience working as a radiological technologist; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licensure by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
