Social Workers are licensed professionals who provide case management services to children, families, vulnerable adults with intellectual, developmental, physical disabilities, serious mental illness, and older adults (collectively referred to as "vulnerable adults") and other individuals within local communities and institutions.
Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
This Social Work Supervisor 1 position is located within the Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) of Health and Human Services in the Community Based Care Program in Las Vegas. ADSD provides an atmosphere of innovative thinking, teamwork, and friendly co-workers, and is a great place to work. The mission of the Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is to provide leadership and advocacy in the planning, development and delivery of a high quality, comprehensive support service system across the lifespan to allow all of Nevada's elders, children and adults with disabilities or special health care needs, to live independent, meaningful and dignified lives to the greatest extent possible.
This position supervises a team of 6 Social Workers and/or Health Care Coordinators and one Administrative Assistant within the Community Based Care Unit to include the Waiver for the Frail Elderly and Physically Disabled Programs, Personal Assistance Services Program, Homemaker Program and the Community Options Program for the Elderly. Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff, assign and review work in order to ensure a coordinated community based care system to meet the needs of the frail, at risk elderly and disabled clientele through the Home and Community Based Care Programs. This position provides training, mentoring and quality management for employees in order to ensure program goals and timelines are met according to agency standards.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Licensure or provisional licensure as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker or Associate in Social Work and one year of journey level professional experience providing case management in a social work setting equivalent to a Social Worker II in Nevada State service. |

A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |
|
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. |

Licensure or provisional licensure by the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker, or Associate in Social Work is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of employment. |
