The Position
Grants & Projects Analysts develop and implement and/or assess, monitor, control and review grant-in-aid projects/programs administered by State agencies and provide assistance to recipients in evaluating program effectiveness.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This position is with the Department of Agriculture, Administrative Division in the Fiscal Unit, located in Sparks. This position will underfill the Analyst 2 position and may be progressed upon the supervisor's approval and when minimum qualifications of the higher level have been met. The incumbent will be responsible for grant management, grant application support, managing sub-grants, and managing budget/fiscal accounts. The incumbent will also provide fiscal team support, assist with contracts, and provide back-up as needed. *THIS POSITION IS REQUIRED TO WORK A MONDAY-FRIDAY, 8AM TO 5PM SCHEDULE.* Travel for this position could happen up to 25% of the time. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, accounting, finance or related field and one year of professional grants experience which includes at least two of the following areas: writing grant applications; determining grant/subgrant program eligibility; researching, writing and implementing grant program plans; managing fiscal aspects of grants/subgrants; providing technical assistance to grant/subgrant recipients; and/or monitoring and ensuring grant/subgrant recipient compliance; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of professional grants experience which includes at least two of the following areas as described above OR one year of experience as a Grants & Projects Analyst Trainee in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

    Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.

The Examination

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience.
