The Position
Accounting Assistants perform clerical accounting work in the maintenance of accounts and accounting records for State agencies.
The Highway Patrol Division (NHP) is recruiting to fill a position at headquarters in Carson City. The incumbent will provide office support including screening and routing incoming phone calls for the Division, maintaining an accurate and complete filing system for the Nevada Highway Patrol's Fiscal unit, processing stale claims, processing car wash invoices for payment, making cash deposits, and entering the cash receipts in IFS.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent and one year of clerical experience, six months of which included duties such as accounts payable and/or accounts receivable and balancing accounts; and using computer spreadsheet to record, track and report data; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education supplemented by successful completion of a one-semester college course in bookkeeping and six months of clerical experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
