The Position
Statisticians gather statistical and other data and perform routine analysis and computations; compile reports and prepare charts, graphs, maps and diagrams to display the data and analysis.
Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.
This position is for the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation, Administrative Services Division located in Carson City, Nevada. The incumbent is primarily responsible for assigning industry and area codes to new firms as part of the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW) program processing; communicating with Nevada employers to derive information related to industry assignments, as well as employment and wage data; and correctly entering data in the QCEW database system. *** THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of experience assisting in the preparation, collection and analysis of data and preparing visual displays using computer software; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
