JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Under immediate supervision, incumbents perform duties below the journey level while receiving training for
advancement to an entry-level professional health/human services class.
The position is an underfill for a Health Program Specialist 1. This position is located within the Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health's Bureau of Child, Family, and Community Wellness, Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program. The position is responsible for providing training, technical assistance, and consultation in areas such as program administration, policy interpretation, and support to sub-granted agencies, clinics, WIC-approved vendors and internal WIC staff. The position oversees vendor services and develops and/or implements policies, procedures, trainings, and technical assistance and assists in the preparation of the annual WIC State Plan and other state and federal reports.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, early childhood development, psychology, public health, special education, nursing, or other discipline directly related to the field in which the applicant is to be trained; OR two years of journey level technical or paraprofessional experience in the field in which the applicant is to be trained. (NOTE: some jobs strictly require a bachelor's degree).
