The Position
Psychiatric Caseworkers monitor the treatment and progress of mentally ill or developmentally disabled clients, perform day treatment and psychosocial rehabilitation activities, and coordinate discharge and aftercare services, in an outpatient, inpatient, clinic, residential, treatment center, client's home and other community settings.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
The Division of Public and Behavioral Health, Rural Clinics (RC) is recruiting for a PSYCHIATRIC CASEWORKER 2 located in Elko, NV. This position assesses people's needs for any medical, educational, social or other services which can include vocational, financial (work), transportation and housing; monitors consumer and provider progress on care plan goals; referring consumer to appropriate services according to the plan of care in accordance with the State Medicaid Services Manual Chapter 2500 and with state laws, Division policies and agency procedures. This position understands housing/residential requirements, both at a state and federal level, and participates in meetings at the agency and clinic levels. Rural Clinics provides an array of outpatient behavioral health services for both adults and children in 16 clinics in 12 counties across Rural Nevada. Services are generally provided Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Services assist individuals to achieve self-sufficiency and recovery.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, or closely related human services field and two years of experience in a mental health or intellectual disabilities setting, one year of which must have included professional casework experience providing psychosocial rehabilitation services for a caseload consisting predominantly of individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities; OR one year as a Psychiatric Caseworker I in Nevada State Service; OR an equivalent combination of experience and education above the bachelor's degree level.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
