Professional Engineer Managers plan, coordinate and oversee projects, programs and consultant contracts/agreements and perform licensed professional engineering functions.
Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives.
This position is located in the Hydraulics Division in Carson City. The incumbent will be responsible for managing programs, projects, allocate resources, supervise and develop staff. Attend and represent the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) at meetings and public hearings and to verify policies and procedures are followed and to provide expertise for the Departments legal issues. A successful incumbent is required to manage NDOT Hydraulic Divisions programs and projects, provide design direction and coordinate with external agencies and developers, and complete other project related tasks ensuring that project deadlines are met. Additionally, this position manages the programming, scheduling and agreements associated with NDOT in-house design and consultants design projects. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Current licensure as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) and two years of experience performing professional engineering work in a supervisory or responsible project charge capacity; OR one year of experience as a Supervisor, Professional Engineer in Nevada State service; OR licensure and two years of experience as a Staff II or Supervisor II, Associate Engineer in Nevada State service; OR licensure and an equivalent combination of education and experience. |

A person that is a licensed Professional Engineer in another state must become licensed as a Professional Engineer in Nevada within six months of appointment as a condition of continuing employment.
