The Position
Psychiatric Caseworkers monitor the treatment and progress of mentally ill or developmentally disabled clients, perform day treatment and psychosocial rehabilitation activities, and coordinate discharge and aftercare services, in an outpatient, inpatient, clinic, residential, treatment center, client's home and other community settings.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS) is recruiting for a Psychiatric Caseworker II for our Wrap Around in Nevada Program (WIN), located in Carson City, Winnemucca, Fernley and Ely, Nevada. Psychiatric Caseworkers within the DCFS Wraparound In Nevada (WIN) Program provide intensive care coordination and/or high-fidelity wraparound services within the statewide Children's Behavioral Health system utilizing the NWIC Wraparound Model. DCFS Wraparound Facilitators link families to appropriate resources, facilitate Child and Family Team meetings, and empower families to identify their informal or "natural" supports to participate in case planning. DCFS Wraparound Facilitators also complete Strength, Needs and Cultural Discoveries with youth and families, develop individualized care coordination plans, and collaborate with agencies in the community to serve youth and families. The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS), together in partnership with families, communities and other governmental agencies provides support and services to assist Nevada's children and families in reaching their full human potential. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, or closely related human services field and two years of experience in a mental health or intellectual disabilities setting, one year of which must have included professional casework experience providing psychosocial rehabilitation services for a caseload consisting predominantly of individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities; OR one year as a Psychiatric Caseworker I in Nevada State Service; OR an equivalent combination of experience and education above the bachelor's degree level.
Special Requirements
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
