Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives.

Additional responsibilities include supervision of professional and paraprofessional staff; management of financial resources and facilities to ensure efficient operations and compliance with budgetary limitations; budget preparation and monitoring; participation in statewide program planning, development and implementation to ensure responsiveness concerning needs and availability of resources; monitoring program compliance with federal performance measurements; development or approval of corrective action plans to improve program performance; and representing the Division in the community to recognize and respond to community needs and concerns. SOCIAL SERVICES MANAGER 3 (12.326) Training and Experience Exam
The exam will consist of a rating of training and experience weighted 100%. It is essential that applications include extensively detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience.
