Education Programs Directors, Supervisors, and Professionals assist and foster the growth of early childhood, pre-K, K-12, postsecondary, adult, and related education programs throughout Nevada by providing technical assistance, training, and oversight.
This position is located within the Department of Education, Office of Early Learning and Development in Carson City and is funded through the federal Preschool Development Grant through 6/30/19, with possible continuation funding. Incumbent will be responsible for supporting new and expanded pre-K seats through coordinated efforts in Carson City, Elko, Washoe, Lyon, and Churchill Counties, to include work with high-need communities, parents and schools. Incumbent will support the Education Programs Supervisor by supporting and monitoring pre-K programmatic activities throughout Northern high-need communities identified in the Preschool Development Grant. Duties will include: develop and refine standards and measures to ensure implementation of key milestones; identify and provide sub-grantee training and technical assistance; develop program recommendations; work with sub-grantees to provide wraparound services for families; and provide activities to ensure compliance with the grant scope of work. A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. An earned Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and one year of professional experience in an educational program area; OR Master's degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and two years of professional experience in an educational program area. |

Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment. |

A license in Early Childhood or Special Education with an Early Childhood Developmentally Delayed Endorsement is required.
