The Position
Professional Engineer Managers plan, coordinate and oversee projects, programs and consultant contracts/agreements and perform licensed professional engineering functions.
Professional Engineer Managers plan, coordinate and oversee projects, programs and consultant contracts/agreements and perform licensed professional engineering functions. This position in located in Winnemucca. The position is responsible for the administration of complex construction projects and may be assigned several large construction projects at a given time. Incumbent functions as a construction project manager within a district. Plans/directs all aspects of contract administration to include: directing changes in contract plans and specifications, preparation of progress estimates; monitoring contractor work; coordinating project activities between contractor personnel, staff personnel, district personnel and other division staff; ensuring project safety; determining contractor compliance with contractual requirements; authorization of payment of contractor; and preparation of documentation to support department's position on claims filed against contract. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Current licensure as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) and two years of experience performing professional engineering work in a supervisory or responsible project charge capacity; OR one year of experience as a Supervisor, Professional Engineer in Nevada State service; OR licensure and two years of experience as a Staff II or Supervisor II, Associate Engineer in Nevada State service; OR licensure and an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
    Registration as a Professional Engineer is required at the time of employment and as a condition of continuing employment.
