The Position
Education Programs Directors, Supervisors, and Professionals assist and foster the growth of early childhood, pre-K, K-12, postsecondary, adult, and related education programs throughout Nevada by providing technical assistance, training, and oversight.
Nevada is on its way to reach its goal of becoming the fastest improving state in the nation. This position (located in Las Vegas) will support the state's underperforming Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) and Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI) schools and work out of the Office of Student and School Supports. The incumbent will work in close collaboration with Nevada's Achievement School District to assist and foster the growth of K-12, and related education programs throughout Nevada by providing technical assistance, training, and oversight. The position will conduct monitoring and provide direct support to CSI and TSI schools, including those receiving a rigorous state-level school improvement intervention aligned to the State's Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESSA) Plan; help to match schools with evidence-based providers aligned to their needs; and coordinate school improvement efforts within and across entities to ensure effective use of public funds. In addition, the Educational Programs Professional will ensure clear and timely communication with stakeholders, including vendors and community members, about school improvement efforts aligned to the State's ESSA Plan and conduct research and analysis of school improvement strategies at Nevada school sites to identify best practices and areas in need of increased support. *** THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    An earned Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and one year of professional experience in an educational program area; OR Master's degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and two years of professional experience in an educational program area.
Special Requirements
    This position requires a State of Nevada/FBI background check, at the cost of the applicant.
    Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
